Jo Elliott Person Centred Counsellor

Hi there, I’m Jo and I’m a qualified Person Centred Counsellor.

I imagine that you are reading through counsellor profiles because something in life is feeling a bit stuck, or hard to move past. As a person centred counsellor, I believe that the answers to what you need to do and where you need to go, are all inside you. My role is to offer you a comfortable, reliable and confidential space where you can safely explore what you need to in order to feel like you are going in the direction you want to.

If that all sounds a bit vague, that’s because it is! Every person is different and so each experience will be different. Add to that the fact that each time we meet, we are slightly different versions of ourselves, and you can see why it is impossible to describe exactly what happens in our counselling sessions. But what I can guarantee you is that every time we meet, I will welcome all of you that enters the room and hold you in an unfaltering regard and genuine care about you and your experience. I will offer honest reflections of the person I see in front of me, and the relationship building between us. It is from this place that you will be able to process through the thing that needs attention, and we can move to wherever that takes us next.

Please contact me if you would like to discuss things further, and to book in for an appointment. I have 60 minute sessions available at a cost of £40 (£50 for couples). I do have some limited concession spaces available, so if this is something you feel you need, we can look at this too.

A bit about me? Well, I work with individual adults, young people and children over 12, as well as offering sessions to couples too. I have worked with children and young people for my whole working life, in educational and residential settings across the country. After qualifying in counselling and being a registered member of the BACP, I continue to keep my skills up to date with regular professional development and supervision. I also work with The Dreadnought Centre and First Light, seeing young people who require their services.

So that’s me. Thank you for reading, and if you decide to get in touch, I really and genuinely look forward to the work we will do together.
