Hi there! I'm Jon.
I thought a lot about how I wanted to introduce myself to you here, and in the end, I decided that openly, authentically and beautifully, imperfectly human was the most "me" approach. And hopefully, the most you, as well.
Let's get the basics out of the way first: I'm Cornish born and bred, adore the sea, have two ridiculously fluffy cats, a fondness for (decaf) Earl Grey, and was bedridden for a decade.
The last one got you, right?
It got me, too.
I suffered, for years, with extremely low energy, brain fog, inability to focus, dizziness, loss of balance, migraines, muscle pain, numbness, swelling, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts - the list goes on and on.
I put on 2/3rds of my previous body weight, could barely concentrate enough to watch a TV show, and struggled to stumble down the hallway to the bathroom (leaning on the walls the entire way and feeling like I was going to throw up just from standing).
I felt utterly worthless, and I questioned whether I had the strength to carry on.
Why am I telling you this? (I know it's not exactly your traditional therapist's bio...)
I mention it here for three reasons:
"Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." - Albus Dumbledore
I travelled a long, arduous and circuitous route on my journey back to physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing.
It took me 15 years, and a lot of wrong turns, missed connections and lost luggage, but I proved to myself that change and transformation aren't only possible, they're inevitable. The only question is: is it going to be the change you want, or the change that you accept?
Because, let's face it, this bio isn't really about me, and it isn't really about my story.
It's about yours.
It's about the story you're living right now.
And it's about story you want to be living, instead.
My journey back to myself took 15 years. Yours doesn't have to.
When I decided I wanted to spend my life helping others to avoid, minimise or overcome the kind of pain I went through, there weren't many questions about how.
Firstly, I wanted to share my story, and my experience, freely, openly and honestly. To let you know, no matter what you're going through, that you're not alone, that change is possible, and that (with the right help) your journey doesn't have to take 15 years, or involve sea monsters, shipwrecks or the Bermuda Triangle.
Sharing free information, experience, and lessons learned, is an important part of my own journey, of giving back, and of helping as many people as I can. I do so in in various mediums (including art, music and videos), on a variety of topics, and through multiple channels (find out more at: https://reframedrealities.com/jon-watson).
But when it came to helping others, one on one, to create rapid and lasting change in their own lives, I turned to the people and therapies that were most instrumental in my own recovery:
Strategic Intervention Coaching (Life Coaching), is all about looking forward. It's about setting goals, working towards your dreams, and solving problems, to help you live the life you want, and deserve, to be living.
Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), is all about looking back, so you can move forward. It's about uncovering and understanding the root cause of your issues, making peace with your past, and reframing limiting beliefs, values, habits and emotions that have been holding you back.
I've been on the receiving end of both, and I can vouch first hand for how effective they are, especially when applied together. As complementary therapies go, I've never found any more complementary!
Together, these marvellous modalities helped me to overcome, (to a name a few), decades of insecurity, doubt, success blocks, and issues with boundaries, confidence, self-acceptance and self-esteem. Coaching and RTT were pivotal for me in understanding the causes and effects of my own physical and mental health issues, (in understanding why I was struggling so much), and in letting go, taking back control and moving forward.
They're proven effective in addressing a wide range of issues, including anger, anxiety, addiction, depression, fertility, lack of confidence, lack of self-esteem, panic attacks, pain control, performance anxiety, relationship problems, stress, weight loss and many more, and the transformations I've witnessed at the hands of talented practitioners, and in my own clients, are incredible.
If you'd like to discuss what these talk therapies could do for you, let's chat! I'd love to hear your story. The boring bits (essential credentials):
