Bowen Therapy in Pregnancy

Pregnancy is undoubtedly an exciting time; but it does present its own challenges and it is common to experience various aches and pains as your body adapts and changes. Many women find that regular Bowen treatments can address any little ‘niggles’ before they turn into bigger problems. For instance, a client recently reported having suffered with sciatic pain during her two previous pregnancies. As the usual symptoms were starting to appear in her third pregnancy, she decided to seek help and try Bowen Therapy. Fortunately, after just one session, she noticed the difference and with monthly sessions throughout her pregnancy the sciatic pain never returned.
In addition to helping with physical symptoms, Bowen Therapy can also facilitate feelings of wellbeing. Most women report feeling deeply relaxed during and after a treatment session, helping a renewed sense of balance and calm.
Your comfort is of paramount importance during a Bowen Therapy session; as your body grows and changes it is not comfortable or advisable to lie flat on the therapy couch. Therefore, we can use special maternity bolster cushions to support you. Alternatively, it is possible to receive a Bowen treatment whilst sitting supported in a chair.
