“Quite simply, I enjoy helping people to feel better!”
Since as long as I can remember, I have held an interest in how people tick. How do our minds and bodies work? And, how can I help people to feel better?
Being fascinated by both the body and mind, I remember feeling quite torn whether to study Psychology or Physiotherapy at University. In the end, I went on to gain various qualifications, including a BSc (Hons) and MSc in Psychology, in addition to a teaching qualification and certification in Bowen Therapy.
I stumbled across Bowen many years ago, rather serendipitously, whilst chatting to a farrier who had suffered from debilitating back pain. After just a few sessions of Bowen Therapy, his back pain was alleviated and my curiosity to learn more was sparked! I went on to study with the College of Bowen Studies and since those early days, I am continually impressed by Bowen. Consistent results, combined with incredible versatility continues to be a source of motivation and job satisfaction.
My aim at The Wellness Hub is to provide clients with a compassionate and empathic approach to their treatment experience and help each person to increase their sense of wellbeing. As our thoughts and emotions are very much linked to our overall sense of health and wellbeing and indeed our perception of pain, actively listening to every client’s unique story is an important part of the session.
Committed to continually improving on my knowledge and practise; I have recently qualified in an innovative technique that addresses scar tissue. Like Bowen Therapy, McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release® (MSTR®), is gentle to receive and can produce lasting results in a relatively short space of time. The results in clinic have been impressive so far, and I’m excited to continue on this journey, offering both Bowen and MSTR to help change people’s lives for the better.
Bowen therapy can also be successfully applied to animals. As a keen equestrian, I am a fully qualified and experienced Equine Bowen Practitioner, regularly visiting yards across Cornwall and Devon. Being extremely sensitive animals, horses typically love to experience this gentle but powerful therapy and benefit greatly. I look forward to sharing the bliss that is Bowen Therapy with you soon!http://www.jtbowen.co.uk
