What is Psychotherapy?

We all have the capacity to enjoy good mental health and well-being.

Psychotherapy offers a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

Using a wide variety of techniques Psychotherapists can support you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in order to manage difficulties and develop coping strategies that work for you.

When should I see a Psychotherapist?

People seek psychotherapy for many reasons; there is no set criteria. A patient may be experiencing difficulties in an area of their life, they may have overwhelming feelings or past trauma, they may feel out of control, or they may just want to understand themselves and the way they think to better manage life.

No problems are too big or small. Exploring them with a trained therapist can help you to learn strategies to change and grow so you can progress and enhance your life experience.

What is Transactional Analysis (TA)?

Transactional Analysis (TA). TA originates from Psycho-analysis. It is based around a model which is easy to understand and can help detangle otherwise complicated situations to empower the client.

TA works for both short term goal orientated counselling and for longer term exploratory psychotherapy. We can look at what you are finding difficult in the present and see how the past perhaps informs that, and how to change that experience by addressing those strategies that no longer serve us.
